About Pekan

Discover Pekan, a town with a rich heritage situated in Pekan District, Pahang, Malaysia. As the royal capital of the state, Pekan gets its name from the elegant Bunga Pekan flower. The town holds historical significance as the hometown of Malaysia's second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, and his son, the sixth Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Pekan is also the residence of the state's royal family, led by Sultan Abdullah of Pahang.

Getting to Pekan

Access Pekan through various routes. From Kuantan, take the Tanjung Lumpur Highway (Federal Route 183), Jalan Pekan (Federal Route 3 and AH18), or the scenic Tun Razak Highway (Federal Route 12) through Gambang. Traveling from Kuala Lumpur, use the East Coast Expressway, exiting at the Gambang Interchange to reach the Tun Razak Highway. For a coastal journey from Johor, take the scenic route passing through Kuala Rompin or opt for the Tun Razak Highway, connecting Segamat and Kuantan.
