However, public transportation, including bus services, remains a hope for residents. The area had a petrol station until 2001 but now relies on individuals selling petrol in bottles.
Despite its heritage charm, modern developments like Shahzan Inn and Fraser’s Silverpark Resort have been introduced, sparking debates over preserving the town's colonial aesthetics. Efforts by local associations led to the suspension of the proposed 15-storey Fraser’s Hill Resort and Spa.
