Bernam Jaya is a residential township positioned within the Hulu Selangor district of Selangor, developed by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) — the Selangor state development corporation. The project reflects PKNS's role as the state's primary development agency, responsible for township-scale residential, commercial, and industrial projects across Selangor.
PKNS is the Selangor State Development Corporation — the state government-linked development agency established in 1964 to drive Selangor's economic and residential development. PKNS has been responsible for township developments including Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Bangi, Kota Damansara, and other landmark Selangor communities. PKNS projects typically benefit from state-linked backing and comprehensive master-planning.
Hulu Selangor covers the northern reaches of Selangor, bordering Perak, with districts including Rawang, Kuala Kubu Bharu, and the Bernam area extending to Tanjung Malim. The area benefits from expanding expressway connectivity and proximity to the UPSI-Tanjung Malim education corridor.
Hulu Selangor is served by the North-South Expressway, LATAR (Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway), Federal Route 1, and the KTM rail corridor via Rawang, Batang Kali, and Tanjung Malim stations.
The Bernam-Tanjung Malim area benefits from UPSI (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris) and Proton City proximity, with local retail and services concentrated in Tanjung Malim and Kuala Kubu Bharu. Healthcare is supported by Hospital Kuala Kubu Bharu and Hospital Slim River.
Developed by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), with the sister project Citrina 3 within the same Hulu Selangor area. PKNS is one of Malaysia's most established state development corporations.
